Leyland Titan. The Bus and the Paintings

A 38 year old Leyland Titan bus  has wheedled itself into my consciousness.  It is being converted by my son into a home.  It’s a lot of work but its peeling paint has started me off on a new art project.  I took some really close up photographs to reveal layers of paint and wonderful patterns especially where the bus had met with misfortune.

Titan 1.  Oil on Canvas                                      Titan 2.  Oil on Canvas

          50 x 50 cm Square

These are the first two and already they are hung in the Fellows exhibition at the Nottingham Society of Artists’ Gallery on Friar Lane, Nottingham. This exhibition continues until 4.30pm on Sunday the 22nd April.

I will be painting another two to make a series of four in time for my Open Studio with Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell Arts’ Trail on the first weekend in June. See http://www.abcarttrail.uk  for all the details.

At last I have completed my set of four.

All four will be at the Nottingham Society of Artist’s Gallery from Tuesday 24th to the 29th April 2018 at the Spotted Dog Art Group’s Spring Exhibition.
